Since 2016, I’ve been coming up with new ways to create classic features.

My name’s Seth.

I grew up near St. Louis, Missouri and have been mountain biking for over 12 years. I started building wooden features about 6 years ago and never stopped. Somewhere in that time of building I started filming and posting to youtube. From there I gained recognition and got hired to build outside of my house first with the Corkscrew, then I donated an entire skills area for kids at Eureka MTB Park. A job or two later I ended up at Howler Bike Park where I started my Building Company and really got to test my skills and build some of the largest stuff Ive ever seen. Its been pretty great getting to spend time in the woods with my dog and other like minded individuals as a job. If you’re reading this I hope Im spending time in your neck of the woods next!

ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH BTB DESIGNS

Marketing Costs.

The amount of marketing I do for the parks I build at, with Instagram alone, would cost tens of thousands of dollars each month to achieve with a normal marketing company.

Not only can I generate MILLIONS of views for your park using Instagram and YouTube, but what makes these views so important is that they are the EXACT demographic you need to market to.

For a marketing company to make 4k highly produced and edited videos, like mine, that get sent directly to your target demographic would cost an overwhelming amount of money, yet I am doing this as an add on to my business. In other words, it’s mostly FREE.

Below is an Article from Business Insider that discusses the cost of sponsoring a Reel post on Instagram. The kind of thing you’ll get for free.

Master Natural Woodworker.

I’m an expert level woodworker when it comes to building with fresh cut natural resources. I build these features from scratch with raw materials from the land that I hand work which makes them incredibly unique and pieces of woodworking art on the trail that will be there for decades to enjoy. I start by identifying a local saw mill for decking and then I scout the land for patches of cedar trees I can pull from for each project.

Below you’ll see me hand peeling a cedar log. Something I do for every project.

Filming.

At the bottom you’ll see what it costs to make a normal corporate video (something that I exceed the quality of by a lot). I do all of these jobs at some point during a project. While I’m at the job I put on my video production crew, director, on-screen talent, and  project management hats simultaneously with building the actual project. Once the projects done, I put on my producer, editor, video rendering, script development, and voice over hats. I have around 5,000 hours of experience with most of these positions, so I am more then qualified for each of there rates.

Artistry.

At heart I skew more toward the visual side of trail building as opposed to just making massive stuff to ride. I get much more pleasure in creating something that visually looks amazing. Along with the features being art themselves, I also have the ability to create literal art if the job calls for it. To the right you’ll see a trail sign I donated for a trail named Surfs Up. I designed it and carved the entire piece out of one solid piece of oak that was laying around after clearing trail. I also sculpted this hand out of Red Cedar!
